ROSSO GUARNIZIONI

ROSSO GUARNIZIONI

Silicone rubber

01AROSS1204

It is often necessary to join irregularly-shaped components or parts made from differing materials and it is hard to find sealants which adapt to requirements for shape and thickness. The silicone adhesive Rosso Guarnizioni is a ready-to-use mono-component paste, packed in a tube with dosing tip and tube-squeezing key which allows for the dosing of the desired quantity. Easy to apply, it forms seals of any thickness; universal for high performance: resistant to oil, petrol and refrigerants. It is a mono-component acetic cross-linkage sealant which forms a seal that is remarkably resistant to high temperatures. Specifically studied for industrial uses, it does not require mixing, it is easy to extract and rapidly cross-links, even at extreme temperatures, forming a resistant and flexible rubber. It is not altered by sunlight, ozone, rain or snow. Its particular formulation renders it suitable for uses at temperatures of between -70°C and +280°C. It adheres to the majority of surfaces, including clean metals, glass, wood, ceramics, silicone resins, vulcanised rubber, natural and synthetic fibres and many plastics and painted surfaces.

For perfect adhesion, clean the surfaces thoroughly before applying the product.

All surfaces must be perfectly clean and grease-free. All of the surfaces except those in plastic and wood must then be rinsed with a rapidly-evaporating degreasing solvent such as acetone or alcohol; rubber surfaces must be roughened with emery paper and then cleaned with a solvent. The adhesive/sealant is to be applied evenly to the prepared surface; the sealant should be finished with a spatula within 5 - 10 minutes after application, before a skin forms. When used between two surfaces, position the second surface, applying sufficient pressure to eliminate air but not to move the sealant; the glued object should be left at room temperature. Actual polymerising times are according to relative humidity, level of restriction and the thickness of the sealant. Apply the sealant, forcing it into the joint in order to ensure total contact between sealant and surface; non-polymerised sealant can be removed with an acetone-soaked cloth. If excess sealant is polymerised, it can be removed with a knife or scraper.
